Why Speedbarn ???
Who thought of that anyway???
| You may be asking yourself, "What the heck kind of a name is Speed Barn?" |
Well the answer is very simple....At my friend Shohn`s house (yes it`s spelled right!) we began
tinkering with cars as soon as we were old enough to drive them, but had no garage. There was
an old barn out back that housed all kinds of stuff (mostly junk!), and it seemed the perfect
place to put down roots. After many years of upgrading and adding space to that old barn, we
finally had a relatively dry place to work, and being as we were making our cars go fast, and a
lot of our friends were bringing their cars to shops with catchy names (FOR SHAME!), we
decided it would be funny to give the place a catchy name, mostly as a joke, and Shohn`s dad
Ken (RIP) came up with Speed Barn, and the rest is history! Well there may be more to it than
that, but all those long nights and busted knuckles have made me kind of teary eyed, so that will
have to do for now!!!!

It seems that the days of the original Speedbarn will soon be over. The land has been for sale
for some years, and looks like it will soon be bought up. My friends have moved from there, and
we are using the remaining few months we will have access to the `Barn to finish up or sell what
is unfinished. The 65 Falcon is gone, Shohn wants to sell the 77 280z, (and finish the `Stang)
and we really need to put the Firebird race car back together. But I am still not done with my
73, and Shane wrecked the 72!!! We need to lose our day jobs and get some of this stuff done!

Well the land has been sold and now you would not even know The `Barn was ever there.
Condo`s have been built all over that whole area. You know what they say, "You can take the
